Best Fast Chargers for DJI Drones

So you’ve got the drone, but what about the charger? Like most consumer technology, DJI drones no longer ship with chargers or power adapters in the box, leaving you to source one on your own. Don’t fret, we’re here to help with our breakdown of the best chargers available for your DJI drone.

Getting the Right Charger for Your Drone

DJI drones are known for being the most powerful in the industry, and along with that comes the need for powerful chargers to get them flying.

Older DJI drones including the DJI FPV, Mavic 2 Series and more require dedicated first-party chargers specific to their battery types. Since then, DJI have implemented a more efficient charging solution for their drones with built-in USB-C charging ports in almost all current drones. This eliminates the fuss of having multiple chargers, allowing you to consolidate down to a single power adapter for your drone and other USB-C charging devices.

If you fly with a DJI Mini series drone, DJI Air 3, DJI Mavic 3 or a more recent release, you’ll be able to effectively charge your drone with just a USB-C power adapter and power delivery cable. Each drone will require a different minimum wattage in order to charge efficiently based on its size. Take a look at the table below to see what you’ll need.

DJI Product Recommended Charger
DJI Mini Series 30 Watts +
DJI Air Series 65 Watts +
DJI Mavic Series 65 Watts +
DJI Avata 65 Watts +
Remote Controllers 30 Watts +
FPV Goggles 30 Watts +

First-Party DJI Chargers

So which charger should you get? The easy answer? One made by DJI.

These are the manufacturer-recommended chargers for DJI drones, cameras and gimbals. While they tend to be a bit pricier than third-party alternatives, you can always trust that these high-quality power adapters are 100% suitable for charging your DJI drone batteries and gear.

DJI 30W USB-C Charger

We’re starting with the DJI 30W USB-C Charger. This compact charging brick is designed for DJI Mini series drones including the DJI Mini 4 Pro.

While it can be used to charge larger Air and Mavic series drones, it is not recommended unless you’re happy to wait for a very, very long charge cycle.

Affordable Third-Party Alternatives

If you’re not looking to spend the premium price for DJI’s premium first-party chargers, a third-party charger might be for you. Popular third-party brands include UGREEN, Anker, Baseus, Cygnett and more.

We recommend UGREEN’s powerful USB-C Charging Stations for your charging solution. Available with different wattages to suit your needs, these chargers each sport 4 USB charging ports and are particularly great for pilots who have lots of individual components.

This 4 port design allows you to efficiently charge all of your gear simultaneously, instead of having to rotate between devices.

For example, one charging port can be used to charge batteries via a battery charging hub, another can charge the remote controller, while a third charges the battery for your FPV goggles.

UGREEN USB-C Charging Stations

Built to maximise versatility, UGREEN USB-C Charging Stations offer a compact charging solution suitable for your DJI drone, laptop, smartphone, camera and other devices. With four USB ports, you can charge up to four devices at once, making juicing up a breeze.

On the Go Charging

Another charging solution that you may not have previously considered is a car charger. Much like their standard power adapters, DJI has historically produced dedicated car chargers for each drone which are still readily available if you fly with an older model.

If you fly with a newer, USB-C charging drone however, all you’ll need is a standard USB-C power adapter that slots into your car’s cigarette lighter.

There are plenty of car charger options available on the market, however, it's best to invest a little more in your charger to ensure that your gear charges efficiently. As most USB car chargers are primarily designed with smartphone charging in mind, they often output a low wattage. Make sure to get a charger that will efficiently charge your DJI drone by cross-referencing with the wattage requirement of your drone before you buy.

UGREEN Car Chargers

UGREEN’s multi-port USB car chargers provide a great on-the-go charging solution for your DJI drone and accessories. Designed to deliver the same efficient charing power of traditional wall adapters from the comfort of your car, these compact adapters are suitable for your drone, smartphone and more.
