Australia is like a giant island in the middle of the ocean filled with an abundance of empty land space, coastal sites and subject to a range of unique weather conditions. Australia's unique conditions makes it home to a handful of wonderful natural wonders of the world, so where better to fly your drone than over these magnificent sites to explore the creations of mother earth. Without further ado let’s have a look at what each state features.
Victoria
When you go to Victoria one of the first sites that should pop up in your head is The Great Ocean Road. This National Heritage located on the south-eastern coast of Victoria is .. well technically just a really long road that stretches up to 240km along the coast. But along this road you’ll be able to sight see stunning coastal views for days. The most popular of them all would be the 12 Apostles, featuring natural limestone formations on the beach. Send your drone between the sparse rocks and along the coastal line to capture epic views unattainable from either the lookout or the beach.
Another well known site in Victoria is the Grampians National Park. Although rock climbing is not an option anymore, you can either hike your way to the wondrous waterfalls and views or fly your drone throughout the park to capture the enormity of the mountains.

Queensland
Australia’s favourite tropical holiday destination features of course the Whitsunday Islands. Here scuba dive to explore the plethora of coral reefs thriving with diverse organisms and tropical animals or look from above with your drone and you’ll be able to see the whole coral ecosystem straight through the pristine clean waters without even needing to get in the water.
New South Wales
Send your drone skywards at Bondi beach and capture the crashing waves against a backdrop of the city of Sydney. A popular place not only for tourists but for photographers and videographers alike, flying your drone over this beach can give you breathtaking views at any time of the day.
Not a beach person? Take your drone up the Dorrigo National Park, which is part of the Gondwana Rainforest listed as an Australia World Heritage Area, to capture the vast array of mountains and waterfalls featured throughout the area.

South Australia
Explore the seas with your drone at the Great Australian Bight in South Australia. Fly your drone along the wondrous coastline known to be the largest indentation on the Australian Coast while capturing the longest line of sea cliffs in the world. If you’re lucky, beat the whale watchers and capture up close footage of the southern right whales in the winter season. This place is a must visit destination for drone flyers!

Western Australia
Undoubtedly the most iconic lake in Australia is the Pink Lake in Western Australia. Located in the Hutt Lagoon, this lake is best viewed from above! While the colours of this lake will not be prominent when observing from the ground, instead of hiring a helicopter for aerial views, capture the stunning fusion of pinks in contrast with the neighbouring blue ocean with your quality drone.
Another gorgeous place to travel to would be the Canal Rocks located in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Take in the stunning seascape views amongst the canal of rocks or fly under the footbridge to capture amazing close up shots of the chiselled granite rocks.
Being the first location in Western Australia to receive the UNESCO World Heritage Site, this one is another must-go-to location for flying. With so many attractions in the area like Monkey Mia and Steep Point, spot a bottlenose dolphin or dugong from above or simply just explore the natural flora and fauna of the Bay with your drone.
North Territory
If you’re heading up north to the hotter regions of Australia don’t forget to check out Simpsons Gap which is only a short drive away from Alice Springs. Here you can take your drone down the gorge to explore the rocky formations uniquely cut from flood waters. You can also explore the wildlife and permanent waterhole from above that is known to be a spiritual site for the Aranda Aboriginal people.
