DJI Avata 2 Goggles Guide: Full Compatibility List

The days of DJI drones supporting just a single remote controller are long gone, with almost all drones being pilotable with multiple controller options. That’s no different with the DJI Mini 4 Pro. Let’s see how you can fly.

What is the DJI Avata 2?

The sequel to the hugely-popular DJI Avata first introduced in 2022, the DJI Avata 2 refines the cinewhoop drone design for more efficient flight and improved flight safety. Avata 2 introduces an upgraded camera, unlocks new flight modes (including cool flips and tricks), and ultimately makes FPV flight easier than ever, especially for beginners.

What FPV Goggles Are Compatible with DJI Avata 2?

DJI Goggles 3

The flagship FPV headset offering from DJI, the DJI Goggles 3 were first introduced alongside the DJI Avata 2 and are designed and optimised to maximise your FPV flying experience. Sporting a fully integrated design that prioritises performance and comfort, Goggles 3 provide a premium FPV experience with Micro-OLED displays and DJI O4 transmission.

These goggles adopt the integrated battery design of the DJI Goggles Integra and introduce a new forehead rest pad, resulting in the most comfortable DJI Goggles yet.

Ready to use without additional accessories, DJI Goggles 3 eliminates dangling cables and can be used without adjustment lenses thanks to built-in adjustable diopters. DJI Goggles 3 is the go-to option for FPV flying with the DJI Avata 2.

DJI Mini 4 Pro can also be piloted with another second generation controller: DJI RC 2. The successor to the DJI RC made popular by the previous-generation DJI Mini 3 Pro drone, this new controller features a big built-in screen - a big upgrade compared to the DJI RC-N2.

The DJI RC 2 is ergonomic and easy to use, providing tactile controls and more stable video transmission with new external antennas that support DJI O4 transmission with DJI Mini 4 Pro.

The biggest advantage of the RC 2? This controller eliminates the need to fly with your smartphone, removing one more variable from your flying experience. The RC 2’s display is brighter than most smartphones and delivers distraction-free flights, allowing you to focus fully on framing your shots.

Admittedly, this controller is pricier than the standard DJI RC-N2, however, we wholeheartedly recommend the upgrade as it provides a massive quality-of-life improvement for everyday flying.

DJI Goggles 3

A refreshed classic, the DJI RC-N2 remote controller updates the original DJI RC-N1 introduced to pilots in 2020. Released alongside the DJI Air 3 in mid-2023, the DJI RC-N2 adopts the same ergonomic outer design as its predecessor, meaning all of your existing accessories are still compatible!

The RC-N2 has seen a significant performance boost under the hood, with new internal antennas to support the Mini 4 Pro’s O4 transmission for flying up to 20KM away. RC-N2 pairs perfectly with DJI Mini 4 Pro and is ideal for those who are just learning to fly - providing an affordable entry point to the Mini 4 Pro.
