DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise: What’s New?
A new drone means new features, and the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise is no different. Let’s take a look to see what’s new and improved.
An Iconic Design, Reimagined
At first glance, the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise series may not look all that different to the DJI Mavic 3 and DJI Mavic 3 Cine released in late 2021 but there are a handful of differences that make the Mavic 3 Enterprise unique.
One noticeable change is the new expansion port found on the top of the M3E drone. This port enables users to easily attach external accessories for job-specific requirements. Another small yet significant difference is the change in propeller design that the M3E features. These new propellers provide greater aerodynamics.
The biggest difference to these new models is of course the new camera gimbals on each model. These gimbals feature new cameras that deliver new possibilities for commercial drone pilots to explore. We’ll be taking a closer look at these new cameras in just a moment.

Two Unique Models
Not only does this launch bring us the new DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, DJI is also introducing the M3E’s big brother, the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Thermal.
The Mavic 3 Enterprise Thermal (DJI M3T) delivers the same high-grade performance as the standard DJI M3E with the addition of a thermal camera. You can think of the Mavic 3 Thermal as a spiritual successor to the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced which featured a thermal camera and telephoto camera on the same drone.
A New Controller Experience: DJI RC Pro Enterprise
Not only does the DJI M3E introduce users to all new features and premium camera quality, it also brings with it a new commercial controller for easy-use when you’re out in the field. Say hello to the DJI RC Pro Enterprise.
Inspired by the DJI RC Pro first released alongside the DJI Mavic 3 Cine in late 2021, the new RC Pro Enterprise shares many aesthetic similarities to the DJI RC Pro while packing a major upgrade under the hood, plus it supports up to 3 hours of continuous operation.
Gorilla Glass
The Osmo Action 3 is one tough cookie. Featuring chemically-strengthened Gorilla Glass on both touchscreens and the main camera lens, the Osmo Action 3 is resistant to scuffs and scratches and can survive general wear and tear. Prone to being clumsy? No need to stress, the Osmo Action 3 is drop-proof up to 1.5 metres!
O3 Enterprise Transmission
When paired with DJI RC Pro Enterprise, the new Mavic 3 Enterprise boasts DJI’s greatest video transmission protocol yet; DJI O3 Enterprise. Programmed to support long flights and far away observation, the O3 Enterprise sports an industry-leading video transmission range of 15 KM, all in HD!
5.5” Touchscreen Display
Unlike consumer series DJI drones which often require users to pair their compatible smartphone with their remote controller in order to fly, the DJI RC Pro Enterprise features a built-in 5.5” ultrabright touchscreen display. With a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, your image will shine through even in the glariest of conditions to ensure that you and your team don’t waste time on technical limitations but rather focus on the task at hand.
Built-In Microphone
This microphone can be used for communication between operators and paired with the Mavic 3 Enterprise Speaker for message delivery (more on that later).

DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Cameras: Explained
Wide Angle Camera
The DJI Mavic 3 sports a huge 4/3” CMOS sensor. That’s the same sensor size as the Pro camera featured on the DJI Mavic 3 camera drone that users have come to know and love. This sensor delivers high-resolution 20MP imagery that will help users capture every detail they need when documenting construction progress, surveying crops and more.
Mechanical Shutter
Yep! That’s right! You asked for it and DJI delivered… mechanical shutter makes its return on the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise. Mechanical shutter is a feature that drone pilots know and love but haven’t seen appear on a DJI drone since the DJI Phantom 4 series. Mechanical shutter allows pilots to capture images in just 0.7 seconds and is an absolute game changer for RTK data capture.
The Mavic 3 Enterprise is the first Mavic series drone to feature a mechanical shutter, so tf you’ve been holding onto your DJI Phantom 4 RTK purely for its mechanical shutter, the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise is the perfect drone to upgrade to.
Wide Angle on the Mavic 3 Thermal
It’s important to note that the 4/3” CMOS wide angle camera featured on the Mavic 3 Enterprise does not come on the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Thermal. This is because a sensor this large simply doesn’t fit on the gimbal besides the telephoto and thermal cameras of the M3T. Instead of this, the M3T features a 1/2" CMOS sensor that delivers 48MP resolution with a format equivalent of 24mm.
Telephoto Camera
Both the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise feature an incredible telephoto lens that delivers an equivalent focal length of 162mm and up to 56x. This camera is perfect for capturing data from a safe distance, for observing problems from afar, and for easily capturing the tiniest of details on a larger scale.

With its module camera design and support for expansion modules, the Mavic 3 Enterprise is designed to perform optimally in a variety of different scenarios, no matter the industry.
