The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 is a next-generation smartphone gimbal that attaches magnetically to your smartphone to deliver smooth, stable footage and a broad creative toolkit. Featuring a built-in extension rod, new controls and a plethora of creative features that take the hard work out of content creation, the DJI Osmo Mobile helps users capture everyday adventures and share their stories.
Essentially, the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 is a portable filmmaking tool that integrates with your smartphone camera to capture cinema-style footage. The DJI OM6 is great for capturing memories and for social media content creation.

DJI Osmo Mobile 6: Compatibility Requirements
So the Osmo Mobile 6 sounds great, but does your phone actually work with it? There are a few factors to consider including your phone’s weight and dimensions. Let’s take a look.
Weight
Just like previous-generation Osmo Mobile gimbals, the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 supports smartphones ranging from 170 to 290 grams in weight. This larger weight range aims to account for as many different smartphones as possible, regardless of brand or camera quality.
Phone Dimensions
In order to fit in the Osmo Mobile 6’s Magnetic Phone Clamp, your smartphone must be between 6.9 and 10 mm in thickness and 67-84 mm in width. These ranges cover most conventional smartphones.
If your smartphone is within the OM6’s supported weight range but doesn’t fit comfortably in the DJI OM Magnetic Phone Clamp 3, there is a workaround! The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 also supports the DJI OM Magnetic Ring Holder which sticks to the back of your smartphone and provides a small but strong magnet for the OM6 to connect to.

What Phones Are Compatible With the DJI OM6?
Apple iPhones
DJI OM6 supports a large number of iPhones dating back over five years to 2017’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This means that if you’ve purchased a new iPhone in the previous five years, you can rest assured that it’ll be supported by the Osmo Mobile 6 and DJI Mimo app without any issues.
iPhones are also the only smartphones currently available that support 4K/60fps video recording within the DJI Mimo app. This means that if you’re looking to capture 4K slow motion footage, you’ll need to do it with an iPhone

Android Smartphones
Android enthusiast? You’ll be glad to hear that you haven’t been forgotten. The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 is also compatible with a variety of popular Android devices from a number of different manufacturers.
Samsung Galaxy Series
The Samsung Galaxy series is one of the most popular smartphone lineups across the globe, which is why it's definitely supported by the DJI OM6. Supported Galaxy models include the Galaxy S22, S21 and S21 Ultra, S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. And don’t forget the Galaxy S10 or GalaxyNote20 Ultra, those models are supported too!
Google Pixel Series
Google’s popular Pixel smartphone series is also compatible with the DJI OM6. Compatible models date back to the Google Pixel 4 and include the Pixel 4, Pixel 5, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

What Phones Are Not Compatible With DJI OM6?
As much as DJI would love to have the DJI OM6 support every major smartphone on the market, it's simply not possible with some of the new form factors and dimensions featured on certain smartphones in 2022. If you’re sporting one of the following phones as your daily driver, it’s probably best to borrow an alternative phone from family or friends when using the Osmo Mobile 6 or avoid the gimbal altogether.
If your phone isn’t on this list, don’t stress! DJI is continually expanding their Osmo Mobile smartphone support and updating their compatibility list. Be sure to check the DJI website to get the latest info on OM6 compatibility.
Folding Phones
Fans of larger folding phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series unfortunately won’t get to take advantage of the creative opportunities offered by the new Osmo Mobile 6. The greater width of these larger folding phones is simply too much for the OM6’s magnetic clamp to handle.
Flip Phones
Just like their folding counterparts, flip phones unfortunately are not supported by the Osmo Mobile 6. Due to their smaller size and the pressure of the DJI OM Magnetic Phone Clamp, flip phones are not supported by the DJI Osmo Mobile 6.
