DJI New Pilot Online Experience - DJI GO 4 - 5th of August 2020

On the 5th of August, D1 Store launched their first DJI GO 4 New Pilot Experience online with great success, reaching capacity. The New Pilot Experience is a free drone class that runs every week and takes you through everything you need to know about the drone right from unboxing the drone for the first time. The New Pilot Experience is a highly regarded and awarded class where we see a large up take in sign-ups. We cannot thank you enough for attending and providing us with all the fantastic support. 

The session's focus was the DJI Go 4 application, which is used by the Mavic 2 series, Phantom 4 series, Mavic Air, Mavic Pro and Spark. 
Our hosts for the night were Cameron and Thomas, both highly knowledgeable product specialists.

Sample Questions from the Q&A Section

  1. What height should you set the return to home altitude?

    You want to set it higher than the highest object around you, whether that be a pole, building or hill. This will ensure that when your drone returns to home, it does not collide with anything. 

  2. What Drones do you two (hosts) fly?

    Cameron flies the Mavic 2 Pro
    Thomas flies the Mavic 2 Zoom

  3. What device do you recommend to use on DJI GO 4? 

    Typically iOS devices have been known to work better than android devices, however we both have not experience any issues with android devices. 

  4. Does the Spark have APAS? 

    Unfortunately APAS is limited to the newer drones with optical sensing instead of infrared. You will need to look at the Mavic Air and above for APAS> 

  5. What Mavic 2 series sccessories do you recommend? 

    We will be running an accessories showcase in the coming weeks where we will go through all the accessories you can get with the drone.

  7. Whats your opinion on ND Filters?

    Definitely needed to do high quality video work. It is important to get a high quality ND filter otherwise the image quality will drop and may experience chromatic aberrations.
