Australian Flight Rules Under 250g Class Under 250g — No operator accreditation required for recreational flying in Australia

Recreational Flying (No Licence or Registration) Drones under 250g do not require CASA operator accreditation or registration when flown purely for sport or recreation in Australia (note: using an extended Plus battery that pushes takeoff weight over 250g places the drone in the 250g–2kg class).
Flying for Work or Business If you fly for commercial purposes or as part of your job, you must get a free online CASA Operator Accreditation and register the drone via myCASA before flying.
CASA Key Safety Rules in Australia Fly below 120m (400ft), keep your drone within visual line of sight, stay at least 30m from other people, and check a CASA-verified drone safety app before flying near airports or controlled airspace.
